Allen John Brumm was born to Gladys (nee Biehler) and Henry Brumm at Inlet, Quebec in the municipality of Mulgrave and Derry on June 19, 1929.

He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force at the age of 22 in October of 1951.

Upon completion of basic training (boot camp) in St. Jean, Quebec in January 1952, Allen was posted to Trenton, Ontario for trades training as a weapons specialist.

After he completed trades training, Allen was posted to the following Stations/Bases during his 33-year career:

1952 – 1953 Trenton, Ontario
1954 – 1955 CFB Camp Borden, Ontario
1955 – 1957 Zweibruken, Germany
1957 – 1961 Cold Lake, Alberta
1961 – 1966 409 (F) Sqn Comox, British Columbia
1966 – 1968 Air defence Headquarters, Montreal, Quebec
1968 – 1971 Command Headquarters, North Bay, Ontario
1971 – 1974 CFS, Valdor, Quebec
1974 – 1984 National Defence Headquarters, Ottawa, Ontario

Allen was honourably released in October 1984 as a Chief Warrant Officer (1N01).

Allen with his wife of 55 years, Madeline, have two children Sonia and Stephen, and two grandsons Travis and Spencer.

Allen passed away February 6, 2011 and is resting at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church Cemetery at Inlet, Quebec.
