Wayne George Edward

1945 - 2020

Wayne George Edward Biehler was born to Mary (Young) and Leslie Biehler at Buckingham Hospital on March 25, 1945 and lived at Inlet, Quebec.

He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps (RCASC) as a driver in April 1964. He completed basic training and trades training in Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Bordon, Ontario and posted to CFB Shilo, Manitoba in January 1965. Other bases Wayne was posted to in 26 years were:

1965 – 1966 Shilo, Manitoba
1966 – 1969 Soest, Northern Germany
1970 – 1973 Kingston, Ontario
1973 – 1975 Trenton, Ontario
1975 – 1979 Ottawa, Ontario. Flew as crew with 412 VIP Squadron and flew such people as the Queen and
Prince Philip, 1978 tour. Flew Several Governor Generals Including Mr. Schryer.
1979 – 1981 Chilliwack, British Columbia
1981 – 1983 Vancouver, British Columbia
1983 – 1989 Winnipeg, Manitoba
Aug ’86 – Feb ’87 Cyprus

Wayne was honourably released in July 1989 as a sergeant.

He now resides in Winnipeg, Manitoba with his wife Jean of 44 years whom he met in Shilo. They have two children; Richard who was born in Germany and resides in Regina, Saskatchewan and Rhonda, who was born in Trenton, Ontario and resides in Winnipeg. They have two grandchildren, Ethan and Aiden.

Wayne passed away November 9, 2020.
